To solve it I pressed the reset button for 15s then unplugged the power cable while holding the reset button for another 15s, replugged the power cable waited 15s and finally released the reset button. After a final deplug / replugged it worked again. While the TV is powered on, press and hold the exit button on the TV remote for about 12 seconds. Make sure that the standby light is blinking the entire time you are pressing and holding the exit button without interruption. A factory reset prompt will appear on your TV’s display.
