Other than the timing chain tensioner, another big issue was with oil consumption. Some of the cars had an extended warranty for this but many have likely expired by now. The torque of the older A4 on paper was equivalent to the TDI but the reality is that the gas engine revs so much more freely and more quickly that it is WAY more fun to drive. As far as reliability goes, how reliable is the Audi A4 compared to the C-Class, 3 Series, Q50 etc.? This will be my first Audi, first luxury german car ever (only had Toyotas up to this date). I am planning on getting the 2017 Audi A4 with the new virtual cockpit.
