Most dogs produce between 0.5 and 1.5 mL of the sperm-rich fraction of semen, and it should be white to opalescent. Even in the absence of prostatic fluid, sperm do not live long in a test tube.
September 25, 2023 by DR HARUN, DVM. Healthy dog sperm should have a milky white appearance and a strong, distinct smell. A dog’s sperm should have a pH balance between 6.7 and 7.2, a concentration of at least 200 million sperm per milliliter, and at least 80% of the sperm should have a normal shape and size.
